Community Engagement：Huyixiang 滬羿祥Edulab is a collaborative virtual workspace to provide members of Huyi Community with a platform to develop and experiment with technology-enabled learning solutions. According to experts, developmental research in education is essential for improving instructional practices through iterative cycles of design, implementation, and refinement. Huyixiang 滬羿祥Edulab assists members of Huyi Community to systematically investigate the design, development, and evaluation of instructional programs, products, and tools. Learning solutions experimented in Huyixiang（滬羿祥) EduLab include, for example, project-based learning, research-based learning or experiential learning pedagogies applied to various disciplines. This will help practitioners and researchers to conduct their research studies, showcase innovative learning solutions and publish in academic journals or professional books
The Developmental Research framework, as defined by Richey & Klein (2005), focuses on the systematic design, development, and evaluation of a specific instructional product. It should be conducted in authentic educational or work contexts, producing knowledge that is ‘both empirically grounded and practically relevant’. Developmental research studies focus on specific instructional products, tools, or processes, aiming to generate either context-specific solutions or general design principles. They differentiate from other research methods by covering multiple stages of instructional design—including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—while incorporating feedback for continuous improvement. The methodology follows a structured three-phase process: analysis, development, and evaluation.
